Recognition agreement signed with the Korean Register of Shipping
The Korean Registry is now authorised to certify Luxembourg flagged vessels on behalf of the Commissariat aux affaires maritimes.
On the 24th November 2014, the Luxembourg authorities and the Korean Register of Shipping finalised an agreement authorising the classification society to act on behalf of the Flag State administration for Luxembourg flagged vessels.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Robert Biwer, Government Commissioner for maritime affairs representing the Luxemnbourg administration and Mr. Jeong-chong Jeon, General Manager of the Korean Register of Shipping (Convention and Legislation Service Team) acting on behalf of Dr. Chang-wook Kim, Executive Vice President acting as Chairman & CEO.
Beside the Korean Register of Shipping (KR), Luxembourg has similar agreements with the following six classification socieites: American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), Bureau Veritas (BV), DNV GL, Lloyd's Register(LR), Nippon Kaiji Kyokai (NKK) and Registro Italiano Navale (RINA).
